Sam Taylor Wood.
Sam Taylor Wood has been working on still and moving images for years now, from her 2004 single take film she did of David Beckham whilst he were sleeping to her series of self-potrait photographs frozen in action. She also directed the biopic of John Lennon, Nowhere Boy.
Sam always shoots on film, not video. Sam Taylor - Wood began exhibiting fine art photography in the early 1990's. One collaboration with 'Henry Bond', titled 26 October 1993, which featured Bond and Taylor - Wood reprising the roles of John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono in a pastiche of the photo portrait made by photographer 'Annie Leibovitz' which were few hours before John Lennon was assassinated in 1980.
Her work has something too do with her personal life, she has overcome two bouts of cancer which were colon cancer and breast cancer. So some of her photographs could be about the relief of getting rid of the cancer.
